My story
On Sunday April 17th I became the first ever person to dance the entire length of the London Marathon! It took an exhausting 8 hours and 50 minutes and it was surely the most intense but rewarding experience of my life - the crowds and runners were just incredible, and the atmosphere every time I dodgily danced past crowds out in the sun was brilliant. I managed to beat my predicted time too - coming in 34,692nd! - and that's with a mass FREE TO DANCE freemob in the Mall at the finish!
Please dig as deep as you're able to sponsor me - we're closing in on our sponsorship target and with you're help we'll be sure to get there.
Dancing the marathon is the next crucial step in preparing me for a world record: the longest ever dance in the world - over 130 hours - from 11th to 16th October in central London. I'm doing it all to raise awareness and funds for Burma - using my freedom to support those with none - through my new educational charity LearnBurma, dedicated to opening young people's eyes to the situation there. It's a country I've come to love since spending a year teaching in a refugee camp on the border with Thailand five years ago. Every penny received from your donation will go towards inspiring young people here and in and around Burma to make a real difference to the country.
Thanks for your support,
Ben
ps If you don't want to donate online you can sponsor me by text! Simply text 'FREE' to 70777 to donate £5! (at least 87% - depending on your mobile provider - goes direct to LearnBurma)
pps Forgot the science bit: "Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity."
