About the charity : The Green Belt Movement International The Green Belt Movement International
The Green Belt Movement (GBM) was founded in Kenya in 1977 by Wangari Maathai (Nobel Peace Laureate 2004). GBM plants trees with communities, addressing root causes of poverty and environmental degradation at the grassroots level. All money raised by the Green Belt Movement International supports this work.

Staff of the Green Belt Movement Europe office in London will be taking part in the 9 mile Freewheel cycle ride in London on 23rd September to celebrate a car free day in the capital.

Sponsoring us will support our community tree planting projects in Africa, restoring habitats and improving the livelihoods of local people.  Our mission is to empower communities worldwide to protect the environment and to promote good governance and cultures of peace.

It would be great if you could also come and join us on the ride! www.londonfreewheel.com You will be promoting environmental responsibility and car free culture whilst seeing the sights on your bike!
