In just 1 weeks time we will be embarking on a mammoth fundraising mission...and mission is definitely the word!
Steve Thorpe, Sam Downing, Jack Thorpe, Mark Dowling, Andy Mills, Chris Slade and David Wool will be attempting to visit all 92 Football League grounds in the space of just 92 hours. We leave in the early hours of March 19th and, if all goes to plan, return early on the 23rd after successfully travelling to each club by car. Each stop has to be recorded with a photo taken either inside or outside the ground and we have just a 10 minute stop scheduled for each of these stops.
We are raising money in aid of the Free Kicks Foundation, the charity which Steve and Sam are trustees for ( www.myspace.com/freekicksfoundation ). Our aim is to take children who have an illness, disability or who are deserving in some other way, on a day out to remember involving their favourite football team.
So far we have worked with over 20 children since 2007 and have taken them on days out to clubs including Chelsea, Portsmouth and Aston Villa where they met their heroes, got photos and autographs and then led their team out onto the pitch prior to kick-off...definitely creating a memorable experience for both the child and their proud parents.
