We are a voluntary group of students and professionals committed to improving the lives of underprivileged children in India through education. "Asha", meaning "hope" in Hindi, is precisely what we wish to bring into the lives of these children.

Story

Bonjour! James Winfield, Mark Pollock and myself are cycling from London to Paris on the 16th of July for the Bangalore Fellowship Foundation in Association with Asha for Education. All money raised will be given directly to a project running in the Indian state of Karnataka which offers basic education to under privileged children living in rural areas who otherwise would grow up without learning basics such as reading, writing and numeracy.

We think that this is a great cause and after seeing the severe lack of education offered in rural areas of India, we know that it is a huge problem that restricts millions of children in India to a life of manual labour and poverty.

Please spare anything you can. I know that money is not something that students have a lot of, but every pound counts and all donations will go a long way. If this is not a big enough incentive to donate then I will also add that ALL DONATORS CAN SUGGEST A FUNNY FANCY DRESS IDEA (we will announce what the fancy dress theme is a week before we leave!) - there will be photographic/video evidence, don't worry..

(Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.)
