Ironman France · 13 October 2005

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

So - the adventure has started and we've finished the Home2Rome Banger Rally. 1,697.3 miles in Peggy the Citroen BX was interesting but great fun and pulled in about £2k between the teams!

I've completed the Six Foot marathon in the Blue Mountains of Australia (www.sixfoot.com) "the toughest foot race in Oz - if not the world!" The cow suit clearly was not the best thing to choose to run in, but it's done now, and it was indeed tough and took me 6 hours and 2 mins to finish - and I was still in the top half!

Now the Flora London Marathon is also done, the Queen carried me round in 4 hours 7 mins and she was still smiling at the end of it all! Only a few weeks to learn how to swim and find my bike...

And we've done the IM France now as well - 13:49:58... a very long day out indeed. The killer was the bike ride, which was truly awful, but the rest was fine, and now I'm part of the 0.000004% of the population that have done one!

In total, I have swum 3.8km, biked 180km and run 129km in just under 24 hours total(covering 318km or about 200 miles) not to mention the distances covered in training - and the 1,700 miles in the BX! So please dig deep and see what loose change and fluff is knocking about in your pockets, and I'd be delighted if you could help me by raising another £2k for a really good cause!

And now the bit you all know by now...: Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leukaemia Research Fund will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
