Fullarton Wheelers Cycle for The Kids - 08 Dec 2013

Fullarton Wheelers Cycle for The Kids · 8 December 2013
The Fullarton Wheelers cycling club have entered a team in this years Neuroblastoma Children's Cancer Alliance UK (NCCA UK) Cycling Santa's charity event.
We are taking part in Day 8 of the challenge, a 65 mile cycle from Dalbeattie to Troon which is taking place on Sun Dec 08.
Neuroblastoma is a childhood cancer which affects around 100 children in the UK each year and has a very high relapse rate. Many of these kids, especially upon relapse, require treatment which is not available through the NHS in the UK, but is available in specialist treatment centres internationally i.e. Germany & America. When a suitable treatment is found for the child, unfortunately it must be funded by the family of the child, as the UK Government not will not pay for the treatment!, this is where the charity comes in. The charity helps the family raise the funds, supports them throughout the process and beyond. It also funds research programmes in order to bring these and other suitable medical treatments to the UK.
For one of our members, Chris Riddle and his daughter Vanessa Riddle, this charity event is of huge importance and we are delighted to show our support.
Please help us help these children and their families!
