4-Continent Charity Challenge 2019
Fundraising for Beaumont Hospital Foundation
Story
In September 2018, our sister Joanne was diagnosed with a brain tumour. She underwent major surgery at Beaumont Hospital, Dublin and has spent the past year having Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy treatment there. As her treatment continues, Joanne and all of our family greatly appreciate the excellent care and attention she receives from all the staff in Beaumont Hospital.
In pale comparison to the tough times Joanne has faced, over the coming October Bank Holiday weekend her four brothers are putting themselves through a little bit of hardship, across the Four Continents to raise funds for The Beaumont Hospital Foundation. All funds raised will go directly to the Neurosurgery & Oncology Departments.
- Paul will be undertaking a Half Marathon in sunny Dubai (25th Oct)
- Shane will complete the Palm Springs Tram Way Race in sunny California (26th Oct)
- David will be running the not-so-sunny Dublin City Marathon (27th Oct)
- Anthony will be cycling 100Km down in sunny Sydney (now postponed to 23rd Nov due to an extended recovery required from a recent bout of pneumonia!)
In addition, our parents Mary & Michael will be putting on the kettle for a Coffee Morning at our home in Banada, Co. Sligo, on Friday 25th Oct.
