Story

63 marathons in 63 days to raise as much money as I can for HDA

Huntington’s Disease is an inherited condition that damages certain nerve cells in the brain.

This brain damage gets progressively worse over time.

As the disease progresses, the person needs increasing levels of help with simple daily tasks.

Eventually, the person will need constant care.

The ‘person’ in this case is my very good friend, Dirk Vervoorts.

HD is terminal. There is no remission. There is no cure.

Dirk and his family are dealing with the changes he is going through on a daily basis. There is not much I can do, but I can help by raising money for the charity HDA that is supporting Dirk and approximately 6,000 other people with HD.

So with this thought in mind, I've decided to raise as much money as I can while I take on this little adventure:

Complete 63 marathons in 63 days at 63 UK locations and in the process create a new world record for most consecutive marathons by a woman.

I start on Sunday 27th August, 2017.

For full details of where in the UK I'm running, including a live tracker of how each day is going (it's mainly to help me not get lost) head to:

BUT please don't forget to donate towards the wonderful charity HDA!!!
