Story

So it's been a real tough 21 months for our beautiful Mum Elaine.

I remember the day we found out as it was yesterday, the date being 12th May 2015, where she sat us all down and told us the news. She was diagnosed with Grade 3 Triple Negative Aggressive Breast Cancer and was told she'd have to have a right Mastectomy within weeks, with Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy following shortly after. This ordeal ended on 14th December 2015, with mum having to have 6 lots of Chemo and 15 lots of Radiotherapy.

Mum enjoyed 4 months recovering, thinking it would all be over and planning her future by booking a nice holiday for some much needed R&R, especially after having a mammogram on the remaining breast, which thankfully came back clear.

It was only a few weeks later that she started to feel dizzy and went for a scan at her GP's request. The result of this scan turned her life upside down again, where she would be diagnosed with Secondary Breast Cancer in the Liver, which couldn't be operated on due to the number and location of the tumours.

Further Chemotherapy was required at Clatterbridge Hospital, where she again received the most amazing care to make her feel as comfortable as possible. During this bout of chemotherapy she found out that it had spread to her bones in addition to her liver, which is where she is at now and is awaiting a scan to see what the next steps are...

To show her appreciation for the care and treatment she has received, she would like to raise some money for Clatterbridge Hospital, as they do incredible work for cancer patients. As both diagnosis were in the month of May, my brother and I feel it quite apt to complete the following challenges, during May this year, (each to be completed on the one day over the weekend);

W/E 6/7th;
Snowdon x 2 in 1 day (Under 11 hrs)

W/E 13/14th;
B.Nevis / Scafell Pike (Under 12 hrs)

W/E 20/21st;
Yorkshire 3 Peaks (12 hrs)
Paul Chester half (Under 2hrs)

W/E - 27/28th;

Any donation, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated and equally if anyone would like to do any of the above challenges, then we would love you to join us.
