My love of cycling began just over 4 years ago when I needed a way to help me get fit and lose some weight. I now regularly cycle 30 miles a day and up to 60 miles on a weekend, this will be far beyond what I`m used to doing but I`m looking forward to the challenge.

The Way of the Roses is a special cycle route that passes through the red rose county of Lancashire and the white rose county of Yorkshire. It is a spectacular 170 mile coast to coast route, I will be cycling from Morcambe on the 29th July 2017 - then through Lancaster, Settle, Cracoe, Pateley Bridge, Ripon, Boroughbridge and Driffield before finishing in Bridlington on Sunday the 30th July 2017.

Apart form the personal challenge I am hoping to raise money for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance they need to raise £12,000 every day to keep its helicopters flying and attend more than 1,300 incidents a year. The YAA has help out my friends and family on numerous occasions. Just over 10 years ago they rescued my Uncle Phil after a bad Motorcycling accident, the fast medical response that they provide is vital for patients who have a major trauma and in so many cases, as in my Uncles, they are the difference between life and death.
