I'm planning to run the Paris Marathon on the 9th April as the first of my two Paris challenges for Transaid this year (see the link below for my team London To Paris bike ride in September).
I am a keen runner, but have only ever done one marathon, after which I did say 'never again', but somehow have found myself pushing my body to the limits one more time... It's for Transaid though, for whom I'm an Ambassador, so it was difficult to say no.
I didn't feel able to start raising sponsorship prior to the run due to serious doubts over whether I could realistically complete the event: after struggling with a hamstring tendon issue at the start of the year I then sprained my right ankle and stress fractured my right foot in February and am still managing the pain and issues this has caused (still hasn't healed as I type on 6th April...).
I'm hoping that it will be a difficult and gruelling, but ultimately worthwhile and rewarding experience as it is for such a great cause.
Just please don't ask me to do it again.
