Story
Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit my page.
On the 22nd April 2018 I will be running the London Marathon for Children with Cancer UK to help raise money for young lives and families devastated by this awful disease.
I first took up running in 2013 before having children, mainly because I liked cake. I then joined a running club and entered races and set myself challenges and here I am today, now aiming for my next challenge, a marathon! I am both excited and nervous, not just about the big day but the months ahead with training whilst working and being a mummy to two young children.
Your support and donations will not only help me run (or crawl) the 26.2 miles on the day but will help to improve survival rates and quality of survival in young cancer patients and to find and reduce the causes of cancer.
Almost 4,000 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer every year in the UK. That’s ten every day. Children with Cancer UK is the leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer. They fund life-saving research into the causes, prevention and treatment of childhood cancer and they work to protect young lives through essential welfare programmes.
