My name is Aly and I have a passion for running and life. My aim is to support Marie Curie whilst I run the Cape Wrath Ultra.

 I'm taking on this challenge in memory of two exceptional friends who are sadly no longer with us. Malcolm Bassett and I ran from Lands End to John O'Groats 7 years ago and in the process raised money for Marie Curie and Macmillan nurses, he was my best friend. We ran most of Britains long distance trails together and I miss him desperately. John Power tragically died in 2014, he was a great buddy and training partner too. This race is for the pair of you, I miss you lots. 

It's an 8 day expedition race covering 400km of Scottish wilderness between Fort William and our destination of Cape Wrath - the north western tip of Scotland. I feel strongly about first class terminal care in the community and gained my long service award with Marie Curie as part of a team providing nursing care and support to both patients and their families, long may that continue.
