The Event
As many of you are aware I'm going to be run the Leeds half marathon for The Royal Marsden Hospital and Mesothelioma UK on May the 14th.
Why I'm doing it
My dad was diagnosed with mesothelioma- a rare terminal lung cancer in March 2015, and was given 3-10 months life expectancy. With the fantastic care and treatment he has been receiving from The Royal Marsden hospital and support from Mesothelioma UK he is still going strong and able to live a full, positive life.
I want to give back to the charities which will help people similar to my dad in all aspects from cancer treatment and specialist knowledge.
What Their Aims Are...
The Royal Marsden Hospital - their mission is to 'continue to make a national and global contribution to cancer research and treatment, so that more people are cured and quality of life is improved for those living with cancer'
Mesothelioma UK's - their aim is to 'fund Mesothelioma Specialist Nurses in remote or high incidence areas around the UK so that anyone affected by mesothelioma has access to specialist knowledge and care'
Unfortunately 'just giving' doesn't allow me to donate to two charities at once so there will be two pages, both with an aim of raising £200. This page is particularly for Mesothelioma UK.
I would love it if you could support me and make a donation however small
Thankyou xox
