St Peter's Hospice is Bristol's ONLY adult hospice caring for local people with life-limiting illnesses. Our commitment is to improve the quality of life of patients while extending care and support to their families and loved ones.

Story

I’ve worked for St Peters Hospice for the last 13yrs. The majority of these have been as one of the community nurse specialist’s (CNS) caring for patients in their own homes. I passionately believe in the value of St Peters Hospice services, I’ve seen the way in which support can really help patients and their families/friends during what can be an incredibly hard time.

I wanted to use my fitness to help raise as much money as possible for the hospice! Due to some incredibly good quality friends I will have company as we aim to row 805km from 12 noon. Why 805km! The hospice covers 500sq miles, we’ve dropped the sq. 500miles = 805km!

I will also be rowing a marathon (26miles) outside of our Gloucester Road hospice shop in the morning of the 24th. So please do pass by and say hello!

St Peter's Hospice is Bristol's ONLY adult hospice caring for local people with life-limiting illnesses. Our commitment is to improve the quality of life of patients while extending care and support to their families and loved ones. All of our care is provided free of charge, but it costs us around £20,000 a day to provide that care. For most of this money we rely on Gifts in Wills, donations, fundraising and our shops.

The Room To Care appeal is raising money to fund the huge re building of our inpatient ward which will allow us to keep caring for patients and families for many years to come.
