I am entering the Great North run this year, and I am raising money for the SICK CHILDREN’S TRUST. A charity that is very close to my heart.
The charity provides accommodation for family's with seriously ill children in hospital.
18 years ago we couldn't have done without their help. When my son Conor was born with Hirschsprungs disease and rushed to the RVI hospital in Newcastle for a lifesaving operations. We found ourselves there for quite a long time and with an 18 month old daughter at home this was very tough.
The facility (Crawford house) at the RVI Newcastle, which was provided by the charity, enabled us to be on premises at all times and have what felt like a home for a while.
As every mother/father knows having a sick baby in hospital is very hard especially when you’re so far away from home. I couldn't of got through it without the sick children's trust providing this for us and now my son has this year become 18, an adult I would like to give something back to them to say thank you for helping me and my family all them years ago and for the other thousands of family’s they provide these facilities for. ❤ please sponsor me and help me raise some money for this wonderful charity. .
