Story
Hi, my Name is Christian Caddick and thank you for coming to visit my page. If you don't know me, I'm a 24 year old lad that is football mad and still loves to play on his PlayStation! However let me quickly tell you my story...
My story is a simple one. In the last 12 months I have beaten cancer, recovered from a broken ankle and I'm now on the recovery now from a blood clot in my lung. You may think I'm incredibly unlucky to have all this in the space of 12 months however in reality, I'm extremely lucky to be in a position where I can take part in the Great Birmingham Run this year. Without all the great support from my family, friends, hospitals and charities it may not have been the same simple story.
The reason I've decided to run for the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) this year is because it's a charity very close to my heart. I was fortunate enough that when I was going through my treatment, I was looked after by the great staff at the Young Persons Unit (YPU) at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. The YPU really helped me throughout my treatment and made what should have been a really difficult period of my life easier.
Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. They need expert treatment and support from the moment they hear the word ‘cancer.’ The TCT are a charity dedicated to making this happen. So this is why I want to raise as much money as I can to help support the great work the TCT does.
Thank you for spending your time on my page, reading my story. I hope that it's inspired you to help make a difference.
