The Hardmoors 55 · 16 March 2019

Zoe's Place is a home from home for babies/infants who have life limiting and life threatening conditions. Zoe's Place offers palliative, specialist respite, and end of life care for infants from birth to five years old. We receive very little funding and therefore rely on donations/fundraising.

Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page.

On March 16th I will be running the Hardmoors 55. This is an off-road Ultra that is, funnily enough, 55 miles long. It starts in Guisborough and follows the Cleveland Way to finish in Helmsley. It covers tough terrain on the North York Moors with a total height gain of approx 3000m (to put that into perspective ... the equivalent of climbing the UK's largest mountain Ben Nevis from sea level more than twice.) The route goes over all the popular local summits such as Roseberry Topping (twice!), Captain Cook's,  Wainstones, Carlton Bank, Sutton Bank (White Horse) and many more!  There is a cut-off time of 16 hours but I hope to finish it in approx 12 hours. If I complete it, this will be my longest and hardest run to date. I have been training hard with lots of hills and long runs including running the Lyke Wake Walk (40 miles on the N Y Moors) back in November. I've had a few injury niggles and setbacks but I think (hope!) I'm ready now!

Details of the Hardmoors 55 can be found here if anyone wants to know more: www.hardmoors110.org.uk/hardmoors-55

In return for my efforts in training and on the day itself, it would be lovely if you could donate to Zoe's Place Baby Hospice, Middlesbrough.  Details of the amazing work they do can be find on their website here: www.zoes-place.org.uk/middlesbrough
