Story
This April, five CLIC Sargent marathon runners will be
taking on one of their ‘scariest’ challenges yet. In an effort to rid the
streets of London from ghouls and medalling, the group of five will be dressing up as Scooby Doo and the Mystery Gang, competing in their very own custom built mystery machine at the Virgin London Marathon 2017. As well as ghosts, the group will also be chasing down the Guinness World Record for the fastest marathon ran in a five person costume. The UK spread team who met at last year’s London Marathon consists of Andy Sharpe, Ceyhun Jay Uzun, David Hepburn, Holly Bishop and Megan Walker. Since beginning their journeys with CLIC Sargent
they have collectively raised more than £86,000 for the charity in memory of loved ones. If training for a world record wasn’t hard enough, many of the team are also working towards impressive individual challenges such as a first time triathlon, eight successive marathons, a 36 hour live radio marathon, 1000 miles in a year and lifetime fundraising targets of over £50,000. The team hope that their record attempt will help bring much needed fundraising and awareness
to the young cancer charity and can’t wait to get the Mystery Machine on the road. Not long to go…ZOINKS!!!
If you would like to help the cause and ensure that the Mystery Machine has enough fuel to make it around the 26.2 mile course on April 23rd then please donate here.
We are running in loving memory of Guy, Rob, Tanyel and the young legends that keep on fighting. You are always in our thoughts.
