Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Same as most of you, I have lost loved ones, friends, work colleagues, and aquantances to this life threatening disease, and know a handful of people who are dealing with the affects of cancer as i write this. I want to do something to give inspiration, hope and show all of these people how much I care, by raising enough money to help MacMillan nurses continue the great support they give to people and their families, friends living with this disease.

I have considered doing this for sometime now, but have always talked my self out of it, selfishly, but mainly for vanity reasons. Until one afternoon I sat on my own reflecting what it must be like to be that person. The person who has just been told they have a form of cancer, the person who now has to decide what treatments to undergo, if any. The person who now feels a burden on their family, possibly ashamed of them selves. Not only does this person have to endure the physical symptoms of cancer, but also the mental slog of how dramatically their lives could change.

For men and women alike, vanity is amongst us! Its part of our everyday living the way we look, dress, how we wear our make up, how we do our hair. As I thought more about this I realised 'that person' is a human being, who has thoughts, feelings, yes! vanity of some kind in them. With treatments a lot of these suffers will lose their femininity or masculinity. They will have no option but to have their hair cut off, because it is falling out, can not put on make up because they physically do not have the energy to put it on.

So im ditching vanity, please help me raise £1,000.00. To help Macmillan nurses carry on supporting your loved ones.

Thank you for reading. 😀
