NHS Charities Together and its members across the UK are hugely grateful for the support received from so many since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am a football and golf obsessed youngster so the COVID 19 lockdown has curtailed all of this activity for me and many others.

I understand why there is a lockdown and I am very sad to hear about people being ill with the virus and sometimes dying.

I am also very proud of our doctors and nurses who face danger every day while they do their job.

I persuaded Mummy to buy me a static exercise bike so I could stay fit during the lockdown. I am doing well and have completed 110KM in 3 days...…...

However, I didn't have a target or anything to aim for until I had a great idea today, Sunday 5th April.

I saw on the news that the NHS had set up the Nightingale Hospital at ExCeL London, which interested me as my Dad used to have an office there.

Then I heard that more regional Nightingales were being set up around the country so I researched all of them on the UK mainland and found out that they will be in:London/Bristol/Glasgow/Harrogate/Manchester and Birmingham.

Using Google Maps I worked out that if I was following recognised cycle paths that would be a journey of about 1700KM starting at ExCeL and cycling clockwise around the country to end up back at ExCeL.

So I set myself a target of completing 1700KM on my exercise bike by Monday 25th May as I should have been competing in the US Kids European Golf Finals in Scotland then. This has been postponed until June 2021.

And I just got Dad to find an NHS charity to hitch my bike to and set up this page.

So any donation large or small would be wonderful please and I shall be updating this page with my progress and where in the country I would be if I was actually outside cycling!

I started with an initial target of £1700, which was £1 per KM. I am so proud to have achieved this after just a week and 400KM of cycling.

To stretch myself to help generate more funds, I increased that to £2000, then £2100, then £2200, then £2300 and now again to £2400 in total, knowing that every extra pound raised is going to a great cause.

In April 2020 I was in the top 3% of fundraisers using the JustGiving platform so that is approximately in the top 100 of 37000 other people. And I was up against Captain Tom!

And I was so proud to be included in our local newspaper the Welwyn Hatfield Times:

Stay safe!
