I began running last January 2022  and I graduated from my running club last March running 5K. When I hit 40 last February I decided to set myself some challenges, last September I got the opportunity to run the Tissington half marathon with no training and only running 8 miles previous to this but I achieved it with the help of my wonderful friends Fi and Pete in 2hr 48 mins. 

I still had a feeling to achieve something more,  so I entered the London marathon ballot but I didn’t get a place so I saw the Virtual London Marathon and after chatting with a few friends we decided to enter it! We also saw that Tissington were doing a full marathon on the same day so we are doing both marathons on one day! It will be an amazing experience doing this with my amazing Jolly Jeffer friends to help and encourage each other!

The reason I am doing this is for the MS Society is because my Dad and a couple of friends of mine who have MS. It is such an awful disease to see how it affects individuals, my Dad has always been a very active individual never keeping still from walking miles daily at work and then constantly on the go gardening and walking / biking to places to now hardly being able to walk a few steps without support, it is so hard to see! I would love to be able to find a cure and give help and support to other individuals with this disease. Please give anything you can to help others with MS and make their lives a little easier and help try and find a cure or treatment to help their symptoms. Thanks so much! Gemma
