I have taken the decision to run (eventhough I run like a headless chicken) for 5k (my first ever run) to raise money for this amazing charity.

My mum had a stroke 8 years ago and never fully recovered. She is now wheelchair bound needing 24 hour support. 

She has had to give up all her independence because of this one day. She is making the most of it by doing a degree at home in her spare time. 

Strokes can lead to worse things such as relapses and also dementia - i want to raise awareness of this and raise funds for a charity that can support people like my mum to feel like a person again. Also to support families who have lost their loved ones to this horrible affliction.
