Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.

Story

On October 25th 2022, I fly to Nepal for a 20 day trip. I am trekking up Everest Base Camp, climbing the Cho La pass at 5420m and trekking around Gokyo Lakes.

I summited Kilimanjaro in 2017 (this was 7 days trekking and the altitude made me sick).

This is 15 days trekking, averaging 7 hours a day. I’m having to take chlorine tablets to purify my water and I’ll be flying to Lukla Airport (google search “worlds most dangerous airport” - that’s where I’m going).

This will be an amazing experience but it is definitely going to be a challenge.

I have recently become aware of a charity that I want to raise awareness and funds for; Neils Appeal- where all funds go to brain tumour research to help the fight against brain cancer. This is an amazing charity to support research into finding a cure for this horrible disease.

I wasn’t aware that brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this.

Brain Tumour Research are the only national charity dedicated to funding long-term, sustainable research in the UK.

Read Neils story, sad but inspirational and any donations would be appreciated to help hit the £30,000 target!!
