Seafarers UK 24 Peaks Challenge 2019
Campaign by The Seafarers' Charity (RCN 226446 (England & Wales), SC038191 (Scotland))
Over 2 days, teams will scale 24 peaks all over 2,400ft, including Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England. Participants will need to be physically fit and committed to training but more than that they will need determination to get to the finish

Story

Between the 6-7th July, a group
of us from Heidmar will travel to the Lake District to attempt the 24 Peak
Challenge to help raise funds for Seafarers UK .

We will aim to climb 24 peaks in
24 hours over a walking distance of 31 miles. The peaks include eight
of the ten highest mountains in England; Scafell Pike, Hevellyn, III Crag,
Broad Crag, Lower Man, Great End, Bowfell and Great Gable. The event is
described as 'the ultimate test of endurance' with a total ascent over
13,000 feet.

Whilst we will definitely suffer
discomfort over the course of the challenge, early mornings and very
little sleep, this is nothing compared to some of those individuals in
the wider maritime community. Seafarers UK protects individuals and their
families within the Merchant Navy, fishing fleets, Royal Navy and
Royal Marines who face dangers on a daily basis. Seafarers provides
vital support to seafarers in need and their families as well as those
training for a career at sea.
