Story
Thank you so much for visiting my page. I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support.
With the worldwide pandemic we have lost thousands of lives due to the vicious corona virus, and we have all seen the stress this has put on both the NHS and charities like BHF. Let's do what we can to help those with heart and circulatory conditions who are at such high risk from this deadly virus.
I have been both diagnosed and treated with a heart condition called Supraventricular Tachycardia in 2016 and then my younger sister last year. So I have witnessed the good that can come of raising money for a Charity like BHF.
Although I was treated there are many people/cyclists/athletes of all ages who may have underlying heart conditions but without the proper testing could be at risk. I want to do my bit to raise awareness and make sure the testing is more available to those who need it.
At the end of July, I will be attempting the Everesting Challenge (8,848m) up the Black Mountain (Wales). The section I will be attempting will be the Llangadog side, from the cattle grid to the car park at the top. This is 3.7km long, at an average gradient of 6% and reaching a elevation of 234m per ascent.
I will have to attempt the climb 37 times, over a distance of 246.9km, and in an estimated total time of 15 hours.
I am no climber, which is why I wanted to take on a brutal challenge like this one.
This will be the furthest I have ever ridden and the most climbing I have ever done, which means it will be one heck of a challenge!
I'd be truly grateful if you could donate what you can to such a great cause.
You can follow for regular updates on both my Instagram and Facebook page/stories throughout the day and on the lead up to the challenge. If you would also like to join me on the climb at any point, any support would be incredible.
Thank you for your time and hope everyone is safe and well.
Jack
