Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Earlier this year my husband, Ian died following 4 years living with bowel cancer.  During his illness we were supported by so many wonderful people.  It is impossible to express my thanks sufficiently and so this year I am taking on the challenge of raising as much money as I can for Manorlands Hospice in Oxenhope.

I will be organising and hosting a number of events over the year and also participating in a number of personal challenges.  My first event will be the It's Grim Up North - Wuthering Wander in April and will culminate in a hike along the Great Wall of China in October.

I am being supported with these endeavours by many friends who also want to play their part and do something in memory of Ian but also in memory of others whom they have lost. One such friend is Andrew Clough who in July will be taking on L'Etape du Tour in France.  This is a stage of the gruelling Tour de France and involved 4600 metres of climbing (that's 15092 feet in old money).  This is a monumental undertaking and I am so completely in awe of Andrew's commitment to this event and hugely grateful that he has offered to use his efforts to support my fund-raising for Manorlands.

I hope that many of you will be able to come along to some of the events that will be taking place across 2019 to join me in trying to make a difference in the lives others.
