We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

Name: Brooklyn Hicks-Williams (15 Years Old)

Diagnosed: 2nd July 2016

All Clear: 4th November 2016 ( undergoing treatment)

His Story: "I Went for a shower one morning and realised I had a lump on my testicle, I informed my mum but had no idea what it was. I had booked into the doctors and they was NOT concerned due to my age I.e 15 years old!!! It was the size of a 'pea' at that early stage and then over the 4 months grew to the size of a 'snooker ball' I had an operation to remove the lump on my left testicle on the 24th Oct 2016 only to be told by the surgeon he had removed my left testicle and he said I had Cancer.

The week after I had a PIC line attached and many tests like Bone Marrow/kidney/MIR scan/CT scan/PET scan and many blood tests, and now I have just completed my 1st session of chemotherapy. I am determined to keep a positive attitude and with the help and support of my family and close friends I am getting through the treatment with relatively few side effects.

Lucky for me the Surgeon has removed all of the 'Cancer' and having Chemotherapy to prevent it reappearing.

My school and Rugby Club (Rhiwbina U16's) is very supportive towards me and the Teenager Cancer trust Unit in Cardiff is fantastic.

It's charities like oddballs that make a massive difference in the ongoing fight against men's/teenagers cancer.

Keep positive and stay strong!"
