My dream is coming true. In June 2022, I will compete at the Special Olympics USA Games!

I have been doing Special Olympics for 27 years. I participate in swimming, bocce, basketball, and floor hockey skills. In the past, I competed in tennis, track, and cross country skiing. I've always loved swimming, and Special Olympics changed my life by offering me a place to train and compete. 

In addition to sports, I am an athlete leader and was a member on the first Athlete Leadership Council (ALC). Going forward, I will be helping NYC start a regional Athlete Leadership Council. I am a certified Health Messenger, serving as the athlete representative on the SONY Health Advisory Council. I am also a trained Global Messenger where I support SONY.

Competing in USA Games means everything to me. When I found out that I was selected, it was a dream come true! I am training so hard! I swim nearly every day, usually 5-6 times a week. 

I can't wait to bring home the gold for Team New York! Even if I don't medal there, I will know in my heart, that I tried my best. I am looking forward to the whole experience, getting to know my NY teammates, and meeting athletes from across North America.
