Story
My brother Darrell (aka Deej) who I am lucky enough to call one of my closest friends was born with Spina Bifida. He struggles everyday with the things we all take for granted. In constant pain Darrell struggles to lead a 'normal' life.
On the 20th May this year, he has decided to take on an epic challenge and walk 13 miles myself plus a group of our nearest and dearest will be right there beside him, while this may not sound much of a challenge for Darrell this will be like completing a marathon, especially as the chosen route is over some difficult terrain.
The group of us are hoping to raise as much money as possible for this incredible charity therefore please give as much as you can, any amount will be greatly appreciated. Thanks xx
Darrells Story: Having just turned 40 I've decided I want to challenge myself while raising funds and awareness for Shine who do tremendous work.I was born with Spina Bifida and although most people couldn't tell from looking at me, I am in chronic pain 24/7. With the help of pain relief and some good doctors I lead a fairly normal life day to day, however I know I'm one of the lucky ones. Some days I struggle to walk 100 yards so 13 miles is going to be a real challenge for me. However I want to do this while I can and before age takes over! On the 20th May I will be attempting to walk part of the Wye Valley and Offa's Dyke Walk from Chepstow to Tintern, over the river and back which is a moderate to difficult trail with many steep hill's and step's. To support me and get me through this, I have 15 incredible friends and family members joining me. Therefore please donate whatever you can to support us and make this a real success not only for my own personal achievement but for the people Shine support.
