Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
In just over 3 months Matt, Kieran, Connor and Josh will be taking on Mount Kilimanjaro! What started as a personal challenge has also given us the opportunity to raise money to help fund the research of The Brain Tumour Charity.
Almost 11,000 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour each year. 102,000 people are currently living with a brain tumour and the impact can be devastating. Matt sadly lost his father Stephen in 2013. Kieran's dad Tony passed away in 2015.
Research into brain tumours is woefully underfunded. Less than 2% of the hundreds of millions invested in the national cancer research funding in the UK is spent on brain tumours. Survival rates are just 14%, one of the poorest of all cancers. Treatments haven't changed in 40 years and progress in research into brain tumours has been slow. This highlights the need for investment in this field of research.
The Brain Tumour Charity is committed to improving life for everyone affected and to defending the most incredible part of the human body. Their current goal is to double survival by 2025 and halve the harm that brain tumours have on quality of life by 2020. Details of their research and the work they are doing to achieve this can be found on their website.
Please help support their research and progress into defeating brain cancer by donating through JustGiving. It's simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity.
