Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I live and breathe hiking, and on the 4 July 2016 I set out on my most ambitious trek yet. Starting with a dip in the Irish sea at St Bees Head on the West coast, I aim to walk 200 miles, through lakes, mountains and moors, with my beloved four-legged soul-mate Boston, before hopefully reaching Robin Hood's Bay on the East coast.
I am doing this to raise money for Battersea. Opened in 1860 as a temporary home for lost and starving dogs, Battersea works to re-home the many dogs which are found or given in to them each year.
It is routinely said that dogs are man's best friend, exhibiting all of the best qualities we admire in fellow human beings: loyalty, empathy, love, intelligence, integrity to name but a few, and for me, the quote below says it all...
“Dogs are our link to paradise. They don't know evil or jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring--it was peace.”
Milan Kundera
Thank you for supporting me, and if I do manage to find my way back, I look forward to a glass of celebratory bubbly with some of you.
