We enable people with blood cancer to survive by finding them stem cell donors

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Jordan was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia on 18th October 2014. Following this he received intense chemotherapy treatment and remained an absolute rock throughout.

In March 2015, he went into remission and we partied as hard as we could to celebrate the occasion. A few hangovers were earned believe me.

In May 2015 Jordan suffered a relapse and had to undergo further treatment and then in August 2015, the required  a Bone Marrow Transplant. However, as we couldn't find a match on the register, I, Jordan's mum, became the donor. This gave me immense pride to learn that the medical world were able to do this even though I am only a half match. Jordan thought this was awesome because he was to become my blood group and thought he may also get the OCD to clean the house that I have! Jordan had never been so proud to learn that he was 100% his mum!

Following the successful transplant, and going into remission, Jordan was discharged from hospital in September 215 and although he had two visits to the Freemans Hospital every week for check ups, he was doing perfectly fine and having the life of s normal 21 year old lad.

On18th October 2015, Jordan was re-admitted to Freemans hospital with a flu and chest virus and then as his chest worsened, he was moved to the Critical Care Unit so they could support him better. Jordan remained there and although he was being treated for everything possible, his lungs worsened and had to be put onto a machine to help him breathe.

Over a period of 2 weeks, sadly, Jordan didn't improve from the lung condition and after a long battle, and surrounded by his loved ones, Jordan passed away on Sunday 15th Nivember 2015.

Ironically, Jordan had beaten cancer TWICE, and it was a lung virus that took him away from us.

If you wish to donate to this worthy cause and remember Jordan, we would be grateful for this.

Thank you for taking the time to read this page.
