Hair (12 inches) is going to help a good cause · 21 May 2016

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  Just a note to everyone that for some reason all donations show as anonymous.  i think it is nice to see who has donated so if you are happy to do this just type your name in the comments section with your message.  Or keep it anonymous if you prefer :-)

I wanted to tell you a little bit more about me and why i am doing this.  I have had long hair for a really long time, everyone who knows me will know that i have always worn my hair this way.  I know quite a few people who have recently had children who have had cancer or leukemia, some have survived and sadly there are those who haven't.  I have lost family members myself and been lucky that some have survived this horrible illness and i know it is a difficult process to go through for anyone, whatever their age.  Last year i did a play called, 'Parents Without Children', and i did a lot of research around the loss of a child.  Being a parent myself i couldn't help but be moved, and i wanted to do my part to help those children that are struggling with cancer in the here and now.  Thankfully Toni and Guy's Macclesfield salon have donated their services so kindly so that all money goes directly to the charity so a big thank you to them for their support :-)

There are many other ways i will choose to help in the future, this is just one of the aspects of what i have chosen to do.  I know it will be hard for me to let go of my hair, but for me it is a choice and in the grand scheme of things it doesn't seem like such a big deal. If i can do some good in the process then all the better, and maybe it is time for me to have a style change :-)  I have set a target of £200, though if i could reach £350 that will completely pay for one addition human hair wig for a child and that would just be marvellous, though any amount will surely help this charity.

In the process i will be making a short film, which i will release publicly in the hope of bringing more attention to The Little Princess Trust, and a photoshoot straight after that will have the charity hash tag on to keep linking back to that cause, and hopefully encourage more people to donate either their hair, time, or a monetary donation.  Everything will help this wonderful charity.
