2017 remarkably marks 10 years since my Dad and best friend passed away on his 46th birthday. The past 10 years have been tough to deal with and the subject of losing my dad was incredibly difficult for me to spend too much thinking about and seeing the sadness in others around me was hard to deal with. On reflection, perhaps that may of seemed selfish, so now I feel the time is right to give something back.

The 13 miles and hours of training will never compare to the suffering my dad, and many others go through trying to fight this turd of a disease yet I have always believed if you are going to do something for charity, it should involve some kind of suffering and sacrifice, not enjoyment. Although I would consider myself pretty active, and a half marathon probably not considered too taxing to some, I HATE running, possibly due to always being used to team sports and the morale that it brings. In recent years I have worked with a lot of people with long term health conditions that have suffered life changing events in their lives, that would give anything just to be able to walk half a mile. This is my motivation not to stop, my motivation that I don't know what physical debilitating pain is, that I have a positive outlook and that I can do and go anywhere I like at anytime. I am doing this for them, for dad and for the future of many others.

Please sponsor me to help achieve my goal..
