Story

A meningioma or Derek as I call him, is a Tumour that forms in the
membrane that covers the brain and skull and often in the spinal cords. Mine was benign, and only 3cm (I'm one of the lucky guys) but he was only a fraction off the optic nerve and in a difficult place to operate. after a couple of years of watch and wait I had 6 weeks radio therapy 6 days a week. 4 years on no growth and feeling good. Last year my brother, Matt Thomas and I ran the London Marathon and raised £11.5k for Brain Tumour Research. Talking to my consultant last year just after I ran the London she said that she was going to give it a go in 2022, so after talking with matt, my colleague we knew we had a tough year at work and would probably not have the time to train for a full, so we decided to do the Oxford together. Please help us help others by donating, every single £1 donated will help.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
