Night Strider 2019 · 5 October 2019 ·

St Luke’s is an independent charity caring for terminally ill adults and their loved ones across Sheffield. Each year, we care for around 1,900 patients most of whom are cared for in their own home by our Specialist Palliative Care Community team.

Story

On 5 October 2019, Queen B's 'Walker' Bees (Marva, Amelia, Maisie and John) are going to be taking part in St Luke’s Night Strider 10K walk to raise money for this charity. We have chosen to support this wonderful local charity because we’ve seen first hand what an amazing job they do.

For all of you who know our mum/nan (Louise Brown aka Queen B) has been treated for a Gastrointestinal stromal tumour (GIST). She's has shown immense courage, strength and determination going through major surgery and still continues to battle the side effects of daily chemotherapy drugs just to keep the GIST stable without so much as a single moan.

Our mother/nan and Marva spend many a Thursday at St Luke’s Clifford House. It’s a lovely place to go for people and loved ones that are affected by illnesses that have no cure at any stage of that journey to do a range of activities, creating memories, forgetting about their illnesses and it’s also a place where you can seek advice and information from professionals.

To say a mahooooosive thank you, we would like to raise money for this worthy local charity’s o it can continue their good work.
