Story

Hi. We're Nicola Reay and Fiona Ismay and we're hoping to
raise lot of money by completing a trek along the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

Sisters, both in our 40s and with absolutely no experience
of international trekking, we will set off for deepest, darkest Peru on May 26 with the twin aim of safely reaching our remote destination high in the Andes - and boosting funds for the Eden Valley Hospice back home in Cumbria.

The hospice is the 2017 charity of the year for Reays bus
and coach company, where Nicola is finance director. "Our Mum was cared for at the hospice, so we know first-hand what great work they do and how much the money can help the hospice with the special care they give," she says.

"We both enjoy walking in the Lake District with
family, friends and dogs but this trip is the absolute ultimate hike. It is something we have both always been drawn to and now we can help other people by doing it," adds Fiona.

Equipped with a sleeping bag each, we'll be camping in
sub-zero temperatures while trekking nearly 30 miles over four days at altitude through sub-tropical jungle and cloud forest, climbing to around 4,000 metres. That's three times higher than Ben Nevis!

Oh - and our guides are also asking us to hand in our mobile
phones as part of a "digital detox." Not sure which is more
frightening!

Thanks for taking time to ready our story and a huge "Thank You" for donating.
