Story
Last year I took part in the London Marathon to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK in memory of my mum. Together we raised over £4,500 which was fantastic !
This year I have decided to set myself a new and bigger challenge. On the 10th June I will be taking part in the Heineken Race to the Tower, a double marathon (53 miles) through the Cotswolds.
Again I will be running in memory of my mum who we lost to Dementia. She was only 69 and had been diagnosed with this cruel illness that meant within just 3 years she was no longer able to communicate or recognise family and friends.
Dementia affects over 850,000 people in the UK and numbers are increasing. Around 38% of the UK population know a family member or close friend with Dementia and each and every one of them will know just how heart breaking this illness is.
With your sponsorship and support we can make a real difference.
Alzheimer's Research UK is the UK's leading dementia research charity. They fund research to find prevention, treatments and a cure that will one day hopefully mean a world free from Dementia.
Thank you so much for your support. It all helps.
