Deep RiverRock Belfast City Marathon 2019 · 5 May 2019 ·

Our aim is to improve the lives of those with musculoskeletal injury or disease in Northern Ireland through research, education and patient support. (TORC) is a small but ambitious charity based in Musgrave Park Hospital. We work with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and research staff to continually improve the provision of holistic care for all those with musculoskeletal injury or disease in Northern Ireland. As a local charity, we rely on the support of people like you to help fund our research and continue to help patients restore active lives, so your support is very much appreciated.

Almost 3 yrs ago my Mum was in an incredible amount of pain. This was because she needed a hip replacement. After the surgery and recovery period Mum now has a new lease on life, she really is a new woman. I know many of you will be able to relate, as most of us know someone with joint problems who need or have had replacement surgery.

The research funded by BART aims improve a patient's experience from first contact to discharge. Other research to improve patient outcomes include; restoration of leg length during hip replacement, patient satisfaction following knee replacement, complications during and after joint replacement and general measures of how patient's do following surgery. BART is interested in any type of research which is of potential benefit to patient's.

With the help of BART many more people like my Mum will benefit for improved service and care when getting a joint replacement at Musgrave Park Hospital.
