Fanconi Hope is a charity set up to sponsor research and support those affected by the rare genetic disorder Fanconi Anaemia that affects children and adults, leading to bone marrow failure and bone marrow transplantation, with very high risk of leukaemia and head and neck cancers.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My son Dhaain born in 2008 was diagnosed with the very rare Fanconi Anaemia condition which is a blood disorder which if not treated and monitored can lead to Leukemia. The condition also carries with it various other symptoms.

In 2010 his blood cell count started to drop rapidly and so he went through a bone marrow transplant - a very tough time for both Dhaain and us as a family.

Over the years with the help of all at Manchester Children's Hospital and St. Marys Hospital in London Dhaain has battled through many a operation and medication and is doing really well. His condition still remains however as their is no cure.

The money raised will help Fanconi Hope which is an independent self funded charity with their research into this very rare condition and hopeful find a cure. Every penny helps!!

This cycle ride is a personal challenge for me seeing as I am not a regular cyclist. The 54 miles is going to be tough, training is tough however I am determined to complete it even if I have to walk it!!
