Doctors and scientists at the Euan MacDonald Centre for Motor Neuron Disease Research undertake vital research into motor neuron disease (MND); a condition that causes muscle weakness and paralysis, difficulty speaking, swallowing and breathing.

Story

MND24 is the creation of my brother, Sandy Stirling. It is a global initiative with the aim of raising funds for vital motor neuron disease (MND) research - www.mnd24.com

MND24 asks you to take part in any sport or activity for 24 hours in March 2022 so Sebastian & I have decided to walk 50km around Dresden together over 12 hours (together 24!).

The money we raise will go to the Euan MacDonald Centre where doctors undertake vital research into MND; the condition that my father died from 3 years ago. This condition causes muscle weakness and paralysis, difficulty speaking, swallowing and breathing. It is life-shortening and there is currently no effective treatment or cure. Uniting over 200 doctors, scientists and NHS healthcare professionals across Scotland, we aim to improve the lives of people living with MND, and to slow, stop and eventually reverse this devastating condition.
