Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The story so far... 6 weeks before the VLM 2016 I managed to fracture 3 bones in my foot. 6 months of support from our fabulous NHS and I think I'm on the mend. I've failed to get a Marathon Ballot place again this year however Prostate Cancer have accepted me on their team again. I have the added pressure of running to thank everyone who supported me first time around be it financial support, emotional or just words of kindness. It was all appreciated and meant so much. So here I go again...
As an update to why this is so important to me... Dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2000. As a family we celebrated his 71st Birthday this year. He constantly fights this cancer. In the UK about 1 in 8 men will get Prostate Cancer at some point in their lives. Men with a family history are more at risk. I run thankful Dad is still fighting fit. I run in hope that continued research and treatment will find a way to stop this cancer so that my husband, my brother and my beautiful boys will never be faced with it.
