Sharon's flabbathon, marathon training

London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 15 years ago. It was difficult to come to terms with and I have struggled. It is difficult to come to terms with when you have to try to eat healthy for the rest of your life!
My journey started as diet control only but that didn't last long. I am now on the highest levels of all medicines available to me. Last stage is insulin. I have many friends who are type 1 diabetes. It is hard to come to terms with when all your favourite foods you can't eat/not supposed to anyway; crisps, chocolate, cheese, curry, chips, cake and sweets.
I have been in denial and tried to be normal!! I want to help fundraise to help others. I have an amazing diabetic nurse and she has worked hard to try and get though to me, but as you will see I'm a stubborn, pain in the bum.
She deals with people like me every day all day long!
There are so many charities that I could have chosen but I just want to give back something to a charity that funds me every day I'm alive.
Please continue to watch my training vlogs as every time i get a simple thumbs up it spurs me on. I can do this 👍
Thank you everyone for helping me make a difference
