Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Helen Deaves was a wonderful teacher, colleague and friend to the children and staff at Skilts school. She was an inspirational, caring and positive individual who brought a ray of sunshine to the lives of those around her.

Helen was dedicated to providing the boys here at Skilts with an exciting, engaging and personalised learning experience (the legacy of which lives on in the children and staff she inspired).

St Richard's hospice provided Helen with the most wonderful care in her final weeks. They are a very special group of people who deliver a unique and individual level of physical and emotional care to patients and their loved ones. This gave us the knowledge and reassurance that Helen was comfortable and at ease during such a difficult time.

We all miss Helen dearly and will always remember the fun times we had together, both in and out of school. We will also be forever grateful to St Richard's for caring for her so wonderfully and ask you to support them in continuing their inspirational work.

The Arden Way (a 26 mile walk) covers Henley in Arden, Ullenhall, Alcester and other Warwickshire villages. This is a very challenging walk (particularly for those of us who rarely walk any further than the local). We are sure that Helen will be watching over us in amusement on 2nd July, as we drag ourselves dishevelled and exhausted over the finish line in her memory!

Thanks to all of you for your support and generosity,

From all the staff at Skilts School.
