I have known Gary Curtis for many years and in addition with having to cope with being a Nottingham Forest fan he has now had to learn to adapt to living with MND.  

Seeing him bravely cope with his usual positive attitude to the challenges that this condition throws at him has inspired me to take up the challenge of running a marathon. I hope to inspire others to do similar events and show my kids that I can do it too. 

I've not run for about 3 years but do cycle regularly. So hopefully the knees will be able to adapt to the extra pressures that have built above them over that time and my tendons won't go ping. 

Well there are now only a few weeks to go before London, the training has been affected by many things, mainly apathy on the rainy days but despite my best efforts to avoid running things are coming together. I've finally got some shoes that feel OK and the legs are holding up. It's been quite a challenge, more than I remember but I know that is nothing compared to the day to day challenges that Gary and Yvonne now have.
