Chester Half Marathon 2017 · 21 May 2017 ·

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

Since returning to university for second term I have become more and more interested in running. With the support of the amazing running society I have decided to run the Chester half marathon in memory of my grandpa.

My grandpa was a true gentleman who taught me so much. He died of Pancreatic Cancer a few years back but I think he would be so proud of me for doing this.

Pancreatic cancer is a disease that affects a large number of people every year however it does not receive nearly as much funding as other cancer charities. Those diagnosed have as little as 3% chance of recovery.  I would like to raise money to help other people who are affected and hopefully make a difference.
