12 Hour Kickathon · 14 August 2022

We want to ensure that every patient at Addenbrooke's and the Rosie hospitals experiences the highest quality of care available. We raise funds for cutting edge technology, additional specialist staff and extra comforts for patients, over and above what is possible with NHS funding alone.

Story

In June 2020, Brody Sims, one of our current Witchford Colts FC U10 players was diagnosed with a brain tumour. He was operated on immediately, underwent Radiotherapy and Chemo from July 2020 to February 2021. Incredibly, Brody was back playing competitive football with Witchford Colts FC by September 2021.

Our superstar and his family were supported heavily by Brainbow during this tough time. Brainbow is the UK's first rehabilitation service integrated in standard NHS care for children and young people with brain tumours based at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge. Local charities - Anna's Hope, Tom's Trust and The Joshua Tarrant Trust work tirelessly with the NHS to fund and provide a pioneering rehabilitation service in the East of England for all children with brain tumours.

We are excited to combine our passion to support the work Brainbow are doing with Brody's love of football on 14th August.
