Abbey Field Medical Centre are taking on the Virtual London Marathon on the 3rd of October (renamed by us as the Abbey Field Marathon as we will be doing laps around Abbey Field)!

Lianne Belcher (nursing team), Sue Foley (administration and secretarial team) and Allan Smith (GP) will be running to raise money for St Helena Hospice. We will be joined by another member of our nursing team Clare Webb who will be running for the amazing little Rosie (https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/clare-webb-4?utm_term=7g6w6Ggm6)

As you may know, St Helena Hospice helps local people in North East Essex face incurable illness and bereavement. Their fantastic work allows patients to die with dignity in their preferred location, and the support they offer to the wider family is priceless. By running this marathon we would like to show our appreciation and thank them for everything they do.

On a personal level both Lianne and Sue have recently had family members who have needed the input of the hospice.
