Story

Three Peaks… in 3 years

Just under a year ago we began our “Three Peaks… in 3 Years” challenge raising nearly £7,000 ( well over our target of £2,500)   for SANDS the charity supporting families who have experience a still born baby.

This year it’s a harder mountain and a bigger target as we begin our 7 -week countdown to climb Ben Nevis on September 1st.

Our reasons are the same  - we are fortunate to be healthy
teenagers able to enjoy an incredible range of sporting and cultural activities, as we become young adults.

Others are not so lucky  - struggling with physical and mental
challenges which means they can’t do what we can and are “unable to climb” so as per last year  - WE’RE CLIMBING FOR THEM!

Our two nominated charities this
year are:

OCD Action

OCD is not all about cleaning or checking the front door.

In fact OCD is serious and debilitating.

Supporting children with extreme mental issues ranging from OCD to anxiety, OCD Action provides counselling, coaching and specialist therapies for children and families to drive through the barriers put up by mental health.

Imagine not being able to attend school, showering for hours on end, becoming restricted to one room to live in and afraid of your fathers cuddle,  all due to OCD and anxiety  - well it happens behind closed doors and it is happening to friends of our parents – We want to help.

Brain Tumour Research

Brain Tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer.

By nominating this charity we hope to raise funds for dedicated treatment centres around the country.

Malakai’s young 8 year old cousin Roi has a brain tumour and is currently undergoing lots of chemo and radiotherapy. He was immobilised and lost his speech after the op and has spent the last few months regaining mobility
and speech. He still can only walk the distance across a room unaided, he can’t climb a mountain so we can do it on his behalf
We want to help.

Sure we’d rather go shopping for new trainers or watch some crap on Youtube but we know how lucky we are and anyway our dads have already spent hundreds of pounds on flights, car hire and
a place to stay  - so please help us hit our initial target of £2,500

Gotta go now  - need to stretch!

We're also raising money for OCD Action research   - please visit our team page if you would like to split your donation across the two charities
